2. THOU SHALL NOT IGNORE MESSAGES FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS

Social media is not a one-way megaphone, it a two-way conversation between two or more parties.  Don’t be a person that ignores comments, messages, and questions from followers simply because you have thousands of followers. Engaging in such will make you lose potential customers and they will move to your competitor who responds swiftly.

3. THOU SHALL NOT POST WITH GRAMMATICAL BLUNDERS

Grammatical blunders are capable of ruining your credibility online. Take time to proofread your copy before posting online. if possible, share with a friend to go through it or make use of an app like Grammarly to double check.

4. THOU SHALL NOT ASK TOO MUCH FROM YOUR FOLLOWERS

Having too many calls to action in a single post can be overwhelming for your followers. Don’t compel them to do more than one thing in one post. Create valuable and engaging posts for them to willingly take action.

5. REMEMBER YOUR PEAK TIME AND POST AT SUCH TIMES

Peak time is the time of the day when your followers are usually online the most. This is the best time to post daily and research has shown that posts uploaded at peak times have the best engagement. Check your page insight to discover your peak time.

6. THOU SHALL NOT TRY TO BE EVERYWHERE

Any account you are using for social media marketing is your business page and it is the face of your brand. Trolling with your business account can be defamatory and it gives a brand a bad image.

9. THOU SHALL NOT BE TEMPTED TO JUMP ON EVERY TREND

One of the most popular ways of increasing engagement and sharing opinions on issues is by jumping on trends. However, this can be detrimental to your brand if the topic is a sensitive one. Joining every online trend can make you lose followers.
